Primetime: Hunt & Fish — Privacy Policy
Updated October 15, 2026
Your spots are yours
We are hunters too. Hunting should not mean being glued to your phone. We built Primetime to help you make the most of your time outdoors, with extra information to help you choose when and where to hunt based on what works best for you. Plan your outing, put your phone away, and enjoy being out there—without costly subscriptions or buying a new calendar every year. We value your privacy: we want to help you hunt and fish, not build a profile of you. We do not sell or rent your personal data, use advertising trackers, or upload your hunting records to a company database. No account is required.
What stays on your device
Your saved places, pins, blood trails, recorded hunt and fishing journeys and their waypoints, hunt logs, selected photos, preferences, downloaded maps, and cached forecasts are stored in the app on your device. Primetime does not upload these records to us. Your device backup settings may include app data in backups managed by Apple or your device provider.
Location and online services
With your permission, location helps show where you are, calculate local sun and moon times, and mark spots. Journey recording starts only when you tap Start hunt or Start fishing. Routes are saved on your device. On iPhone, with While Using the App location permission, a journey started while the app is open continues recording while the app is in the background or the phone is locked. Pause or Finish stops recording. Force-quitting the app stops recording; it does not restart automatically. Android recording pauses in the background. You can also choose a place manually. Online maps and search use Apple services on iPhone and Google maps on Android. Apple receives place searches and the nearby search area. When weather is enabled, Apple Weather receives the selected coordinates rounded to two decimal places. Esri provides satellite tiles and hosts NOAA Great Lakes depth contours, Natural Resources Canada, the Government of Ontario, and the U.S. Geological Survey provide contour overlays, Ohio and Michigan provide Lake Erie depth contours, NOAA provides marine charts, and Environment and Climate Change Canada provides radar; requests identify the map area being viewed. These providers receive normal connection information, such as your IP address, and handle requests under their own privacy policies. If configured, our weather-token service receives a connection request, but the app does not send it your coordinates or hunting records.
Optional permissions
Camera and photo access are only used for photos you choose to add to your log. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device if you enable notifications. You can change location, camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
Keeping and deleting data
Saved records remain until you delete them in the app or delete the app and its local data. Removing a saved map keeps imagery still used by other saved maps; temporary download files are cleaned on launch or before another download. Unfinished tiles are kept for retries, then cleaned after 24 hours when the app next performs cleanup, unless needed by a saved map. If saved map records cannot be read, imagery is kept to avoid losing your maps. Removing the app does not remove photos from your photo library or copies in device backups. Manage those separately through your device or backup provider. We cannot retrieve your local records for you.
